For mounting of the LPH, you will need to drill 2 or 3 holes in the fender of the XR650R depending on which mounting kit you are going to use.

Features: License Frame Holder: Machined from 6061 Aluminum, this license plate holder is stronger, lighter and easier to install than any others you've seen.
Because it's machined and not stamped, it has a much higher tolerance to vibration failure like you've seen with some others out there.
In addition, it simply mounts to the existing hardware on you bike making it easy to install and remove.
Because it matches the contour of your stock WR or XR 250R 400R rear fender, the plate also stays out of the
way of your leg when mounting, dismounting, or struggling up some difficult terrain.
It also is strong enough to survive the occasional "loop out" that normally
rips most other plate holders from their attachment point.
Of course it's not indestructible but it's probably the best setup you'll find to date. Mounts to the existing 3 bolts that hold your tail light on.

Designed for the bare minamilist rider who wants the lightest trickest part.
Yet still wants to stay legal!! and show his or her colors!!
